TFS Web PortalInitial Configuration of TFS
Configure a new TFS Project
- Set up a Team Project Collection using the TFS Admin Console appliction on Vibe, or use the Default Collection (no work required)
- Open Visual studio
- Close any open solutions in VS.
- Open "Team Explorer"
- Select the "View" Menu
- Click "Team Explorer"
- In Team Exploere click "Select Team Projects" A dialog titled "Connected to Team Foundation Server" should appear.
- Select "vibe" in the servers drop down. If no servers are listed:
- Click the "Servers" button
- Click "Add"
- In the url field type "vibe" without quotations
- Path should be "tfs" without quotations
- Port number should be 8080
- Protocol should be "HTTP"
- Preview should read "http://vibe:8080/tfs"
- Click "OK"
- Click "Close"
- Select the Team Project Collection which will house the new TFS Project.
- Click "Connect"
- In "Team Explorer" Click the "Home" header below the search box.
- Select "Projects and My Teams" and "New Project"
- Enter a Project Name and Description and Click Next
- Select a Process Template
- Select "Team Foundation Version Control" as the version control system and click "Next"
- Review the configuration and click "Finish"
- Click "Close"
- ~~~~~~Create workspace w/ empty folder
- ~~~~~~Perform a get, shouldn't get anything, empty project
- ~~~~~~Move data into workspace
- ~~~~~~Commit data to
- Open the Solution to be added to the TFS Project
- In the solution explorer, right click the solution and select "Add Solution to Source Control"
- Select "Team Foundation Version Control" and click "OK"
Delete a TFS Project
- Log in to vibe via remote desktop
- Launch the TFS Admin Console
- Click Start
- Type "TFS"
- Select TFS Admin Console
- In the tree at right expand "Vibe" and "Application Tier"
- Select Team Project Collections
- In the lower pane select the "Team Projects" tab
- Select the desired project
- Click the "Delete" button on the right
